General Board Member positions

VP Travel

Organizes, oversees, and keeps results of all evaluations.  Comprises teams based on said evaluations. Approves, assigns and manages coaches.  Responsible for coach’s training and licensing and routinely visits and/or oversees various team practices as needed.  Works to resolve conflicts as they arise with parents, coaches and players. Is responsible for communication of YSC philosophy and Club direction to players and parents, especially prior to evaluations and team placements. Helps to provide opportunities for coach’s and players to receive “off season” training. Organizes training camps in conjunction with SUSC or other qualified entities. Works with the HS programs and helps with off-season play for HS boys and girls.

VP Harvest Cup

Oversees and is hands on for the “logistics” of the tournament. Responsible for buying supplies, accepting donations, ordering and pickup/delivery of food/beverages and T-shirt/sweatshirt liaison/coordinator. Is responsible for all vendors. Responsible for training and organizing Field coordinators.  Responsible for organizing and training a “committee” of people to perform tasks as needed (and there are many, many). Delegates jobs/functions accordingly amongst various Board members and other such volunteers and oversees those functions.

VP Development

Organizes entire development program in conjunction with Seacoast United Soccer Club (SUSC). Identifies coach’s and parent volunteers to work closely with SUSC to help as needed. Works with VP of equipment to order soccer balls, shirts, various gear as needed. Maintains and is responsible for all Development equipment throughout the course of the season. Is a weekly hands on position and also helps set up fields prior to each session, as needed. Is responsible for communication and dissemination of information between development players, coach’s, and SUSC. Helps the YSC transition coach’s and players from Development to the Travel program.

VP Registrar

Responsible for sending emails to the entire YSC database regarding any pertinent information at the time.

VP Facilities

Shall make sure that all soccer fields are ready for games (each weekend) and tournaments throughout the season. Parks and Rec does the bulk of field maintenance, but there is maintenance that needs to be done to goal posts, nets, field lines and wet fields throughout the season and prior to tournaments and regional play. This position would work closely with the VP of Travel as needed.

VP Equipment

Orders uniforms, development shirts, soccer balls, cones, pinnies, goals, and any other training gear and equipment needs of the Travel and Development programs. Hands out and collects equipment from all teams. Maintains order in the storage locker. Donates/gets rid of old gear in need of “retirement”. Works closely with each team to make sure they have all gear as needed and passes out/collects said equipment. Also works closely with Travel VP or Travel committee (if there was one).

VP Fundraising

This was the position that Harvest Cup fell under, but it is too much for one individual to handle both responsibilities.  This person would be in charge of creating and organizing all fundraising activities for the club including sponsorships and grants. This position was newly created a few years ago but never really filled. It has always been an add-on to H-Cup chairperson.
