York Soccer Club Early Development Program

Overview

2023 Early Development Program (EDP)

The York Soccer Club’s Early Development Program (EDP) introduces boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 8 living in York to the game of soccer. Participants are typically in grades K-2.  The focus is on having fun and early skill development.  Sessions will be 50 minutes long and include about 30 minutes of skills, drills, and fun games, and about 20 minutes of scrimmaging.  Each team is led by a volunteer coach, with guidance from Seacoast United coaches and assistance from York High School soccer players.

Schedule: Saturday mornings between September 9 and October 21.  There will be no EDP during Indigenous Peoples Day weekend in support of YSC Harvest Cup. Sessions will likely run from 9:00 to 9:50 or from 10:00 to 10:50.

Those sessions will typically have 5-6 year olds in the first session working on more of the basics while the second session will be more advanced 7-8 year olds not quite ready for travel, but increasing focus of fundamentals and skills to prepare children for travel.

Cost:  $75.00 per child
